Lucy is just 2 months old and people are already asking when we are having another one. I hate to break it to you folks, but Lucy is all we want. She's perfect and we are content just having one. It's always been the plan. Will she be spoiled? Yes. Will she be a spoiled brat? No. At least we won't raise her like that. People seem to think that Lucy will be lonely without any siblings. She'll have friends people and cousins to play with. I know plenty of only children who are perfectly happy and normal. We want to be able to provide for her and be able to pay for college, weddings, vacations, etc. Give her things that we weren't able to have as a child.
I've asked Dr. Brazus to tie my tubes on more then one occasion and of course she won't because I'm too young and she thinks I'll change my mind. I have no doubt that I'll get baby fever but that doesn't mean we'll act upon it. So to make sure Lucy is the only one...I decided to get Mirena. Mirena is an IUD that delivers small amounts of hormone directly to the uterus. It lasts up to 5 years (HECK YEAH) and works continuously meaning I don't have to take a pill, put a patch on, or anything like that for 5 years. It's over 99% effect and the most effective form of birth control. In fact, the doctor described it like the vasectomy for a woman, but definitely reverseable. It was pretty expensive up front cost but why not pay more into the hospital wing that we'll someday have named after us. I got it put in on last Wednesday and so far so good!
