I was under the impression that First Birthday's are always the most stressful. Well, let me tell you they are!! Lucy's birthday party turned out perfect, well almost perfect. There were over 80 people that RSVP and with the snow, sickness, etc there were about 75 that showed up. I was overwhelmed with the amount of people that wanted to celebrate Lucy's 1st birthday. The theme was a ladybugs or black & red polka dots. We had red and black polka dot cupcakes, black and red table cloths, red and black balloons, etc. Everything went with the red and black theme except the birthday girl. She wore a lime green tutu, cream thermal with pink, green, etc snowflakes on it and a pink, green, yellow, etc jacket over that and of course she showed off her black sparkly chuck taylors. At once time my idea was to have appetizers but I'm glad I scratched that idea and ordered pizza's and had chips/dip, cheeseballs, etc. It was much easier to clean up and serve. I couldn't have put it together without one of my best friends, Lindsay. She helped me plan everything from start to finish and also was there to help us set up and clean up. She's amazing. We sent out 60 thank you cards if that tells you anything about the amount of presents she got! She received Lots of toys, a few books, and some outfits. One of the most special gifts was another one of my best friends, Denise, her family that I'm close to all went in on a Best Buy giftcard to get Lucy a camcorder to record her birthday, Christmas, etc. It was very touching and warming to know how much they love Lucy. We are very very lucky to have the people in our life and proud to call Lucy our daughter.
