6 Weeks Old

Time is flying by! I can't believe that Lucy is 6 weeks old already. It's exciting and sad all at the same time. Before I know it, I'll be going back to work which really makes me sad. Lucy also has gotten her first cold after hanging around some sick kids at the family party. We had to take her to the doctor because she wanted to see her because she's so young. Thankfully it wasn't serious enough for medicine but just needs time, humidifier, and love. The doctor doesn't want her really going out anywhere until she's 2 months old because that's when she'll have her shots. They did weigh her and Lucy is now 9 lbs 10 ounces which is exactly 1 lb more then what she weighed 2 weeks ago at her one month appointment. Last night was the first night she slept through the night...7 hours to be exact. It was amazing to have that much sleep! Let's just cross our fingers it'll happen again. I think she's having a growth spurt. Yesterday she was really fussy and all she wanted to do is eat and those are signs of a growth spurt but who knows. I've been trying to get a routine down with her but with people in town and visitors coming, etc it's been hard to do any of that. The only thing that seems to stay though is that Jer will do the last feeding around 9:00 and put her down for the night. Hopefully we'll be able to establish a routine before I go back to work....
