First Trip Away...

There are not many people in this world I would leave my daughter for more a night for. One of those expection(al) people is one of my best friends, Kara. She's my bestie. I'd do anything for her. So off, Jer & I, went to Key West to help celebrate her marriage to Matt. We love them both and wouldn't miss it for anything. Except when we planned the trip, we knew we couldn't take Lucy. Thankfully, we have Jaime in our life. She's the owner of the daycare Lucy goes to. She's great...no awesome. We couldn't have left to go to Key West without her. Sure we have my parents and Lindsay/Kyle who could have done it but nobody knows her as well as we do except Jaime. She's with her 50 hours a week. She knows her language, her cries, her tantrums, etc. So Wednesday night I dropped her off. I'm not sure why Jer thought it was a good idea for me to drop off but I did. I immediately put her down and she started crying and the tears welled up in my eyes. I couldn't help myself. It felt like I was dropping her off for a lifetime. We even prepared a will JUST IN CASE something would have happened. That was hard enough. So I had all these images and feelings going on already. I left in a hurry to go get a second load of stuff out of the car for her stay and came in and did a quick goodbye and went outside and just cried my eyes out. I didn't want her to see me cry and I knew she was in good hands. These are some of the pictures Jaime sent me while we were in Key West. We would also text videos back and forth and that helped a lot. We landed at 5:40 on Sunday and went straight to Jaime's to pick up our baby girl. It made my heart melt to see her yell mommy and run up and give me a big hug! Again, we are so thankful we have Jaime in our life!
