Key West
We went on our first vacation together since 2008 when we went to Miami to visit Matt & Kara. This trip we went to Key West to celebrate Matt & Kara's wedding. While Kara is my bestie and lives multiple states away....Our relationship couldn't be stronger then it ever has been. So when she asked me to her matron of honor, I couldn't say no. It took a lot of saving money and learning to accept the fact that we were going to leave Lucy for the first time for this long but it was worth every penny, tear, and worry to see my bestie get married to the love of her life. Jer and I arrived on Thursday and felt like Key West was our playground. Since we were the first to arrive at Old Town Manor (all the wedding party stayed there) we took off to explore and ended up at Fat Tuesdays where we people watched and drank some delicious frozen drinks. We took off from there and walked down to the ocean and back. By the time we came back to the manor, other friends had started to arrive. Thursday night we all went out as a group and Jer and I showed our age when we left around 12:30AM but we had been up since 3:45A. We went home and crashed. Friday we had a "tourist" morning and explored more of Key West. We went to the southern most point and walked around and browsed through shops. Friday night we had the Welcome Party at Old Town Manor. The best part about that is when we got tired, we just had to go to our room which were only a few steps away. Saturday was the Big Day. Jer was on his own that day while I went with kara to get our make up and hair done. It was so nice to spend so much time with her. The wedding was beautiful and we couldn't have hoped for better weather. We danced and drank the whole night away. It was a great night! Then Sunday came and so did the water works...I did not want to leave my bestie. I hate living so far away from her. I hope we can save enough to go visit her in September with Lucy.
