Week 16-Avocado

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

Nothing exciting to report. Week 16 has been a rough one. I'm sick again and getting sick on a daily basis. I feel like I am never going to leave these first trimester symptoms. I'm getting really tired of being sick and it's getting me down.

We were pretty active this weekend and in the end, I have slept 14 hrs since we went to bed last night around 12:30 and am trying to force myself to stay away so I can sleep tonight. We both took Friday off and spent it together which was a nice break. Friday night I went to the No Doubt concert with my friends and Jeremy spent time with his playing golf and video games. It was really nice seeing them because it's been awhile and I miss hanging out with them. Saturday we had our cousin's 2nd birthday party, family dinner w/his dad, and than we went to the Holy Spirit festival.

We did see our friend and got an u/s but the baby as she put it...is very uncooperative like it's mother. So needless to say, we didn't get to find out the gender. The baby was very active and was doing a head stand on my cervix, flipping around, grabbing it's toes, etc. The heart beat was good....I think 156 or 150 something and it's measuring a couple of days ahead and 5 ounces. I'm starting to pop out and people that see me on a daily basis are starting to notice. I had to buy another pair of maternity work pants this weekend and I noticed my jeans are starting to get tight around the waist. It's hard finding a good fit when the waist is the only thing expanding.

I think my first shower will be in September, a family shower, so that's exciting to think about. People keep asking about my registry but I wont register at least until I find out the sex and prob not until it's closer to the shower but we've started getting baby related magazines in the mail so it's been fun to start planning colors for the nursery.
