Week 17

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. His umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes now feature one-of-a-kind prints.

Week 17 has been nothing to talk about it...at all. Monday was really rough. I broke a record and not in a good way. I threw up 7 times before noon and almost admitted myself to the ER. After talking to my nurse/doctor, they put me on a new anti nausea medicine. So far it's been working which is nice. The bad side effect is that when I take it-I am so tired but I'll take that over the vomitting. If this doesn't work than it's bed rest for me with an IV of anti nausea medicine and I refuse to go on bed rest!!! Dr Brazus told me to eat the "crap" food that will stay down b/c I mentioned to the nurse I don't want to eat it even though it stays down b/c I dont want to gain a lot of weight. But than I need nutrients so it's a catch 22.

I got the results back from my blood tests. They tested for--I feel like everything. It was the quad screen (genetic disorders), AIDS, immunity to diseases, iron, etc. Everything was negative except my iron was a little on the lower side which didn't bother the doctor because I've been so sick. I also am not immune to rubella either which is rare since I had the immunization when I was little. I did tell me nurse after she told me that I had found out that my birth mother had rubella when she was pregnant with me so maybe that had something to do with it. Anyway, it's rare and weird but I don't know if anything "normal" has happened to me yet during this pregnancy!!!! haha!

No big plans for the weekend. Tonight we're going to Harry Potter with our friends and tomorrow the Hamilton Co 4-H fair to see the animals (I hope I dont get sick on the smell) and some yummy corn! I need a relaxing weekend!
