Unexpected Doctor's Visit
On Friday I had an unexpected doctor's appointment. I noticed on Thursday that Lucy wasn't moving as much as she usually does. I had tried the usual juice and laying on my left side and still the movement was practically non existent. I worried all night long and hoped and prayed that she was going to wake up and I was going to feel her but of course that didn't happen. I waited until 9:00 and called the doctor's office. Per their instructions, I drank a coke and still nothing happened. The kicks weren't happening like they were supposed to. I went into the doctor's office at 11:15 and they immediately did a NST. That is a Fetal Non Stress Test. It's a strap that is wrapped around my stomach and can measure movement and heart rate. They nurse first used a buzzer to wake Lucy up. Of course, as soon as I was strapped to the machine, she was kicking up a storm. The test showed that she was doing very well and the doctor was pleased. However, we moved my appointment from Tuesday to Wednesday because she wants me to have an ultrasound because I am measuring 3 1/2 weeks ahead. I'm not too concerned with the measuring ahead because it could be a lot of things. She could actually be measuring big or I was bloated or maybe something to do w/the fluids but I figured there's no reason for me to worry now., It will be nice to be able to see how she looks and is doing now. I also will have my gestational diabetes test on Wednesday too.
