Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
24 weeks is the day some say that Baby Sorg is viable, which means that she can live outside the uterus. Of course she would be in NICU for a long time but still it's a big milestone to cross. So Happy V-Day Baby Lucy!
For the first time in my entire pregnancy-I am having a sweet tooth. Typically, the only thing I wanted was sour candy but that's because it took the edge off my nauseau but I woke up Saturday and wanted cookies, muffins, etc. I think I am already over that craving though which is good because that's not going to help my weight! It sure would get Lucy moving though. I feel her all the time now and Jeremy feels her on a nightly basis.
