We have now taken 3 child birth classes. I don't remember if I said anything about class #2 but it was definitely an eye opener or a nightmare....whatever you want to call it. I didn't sleep that entire night. They showed us 3 different births from beginning to end. It was an all natural, one narcotic, and one epidural birth. They showed us EVERYTHING in this video. It was WAY more then Jeremy & I intend to see on Lucy's birth and it was WAY more then we wanted to see on anyone else. While our thoughts might change as of now, Jeremy wants to be by my head and I don't want to see a mirror. Class #3 they talked about the pros and cons of having an epidural and inducing which are 2 things that is a major topic with this pregnancy. I will more then likely be induced and definitely have an epidural. I understand there are side effects to about everything but I trust my doctor that she will give me the best care and we'll make the best decisions for Lucy and myself.
Class was short last night because everyone was sick which leads me into talking briefly about H1N1. Two of my co-workers at work have been diagnosed with h1n1 so I have been washing my hands and sanitizing so much that my hands are so dry and hurt. The only place I feel safe is at our house and even here-we are bringing germs in from the outside. I wish sick people would stay at home so it would give the minority of us that are healthy a chance to get through this epidemic.
