Dear Lucy....

Dear Lucy,

As you have been growing inside me, I have been thinking a lot lately about the day I will finally get to meet you. I am overwhelemed about the amount of people who are so excited to meet you and be part of your life. Daddy has already told you that you've had 6 parties now in your honor! Wait until you see all your fabulous presents! I feel like I know some things about you already. When daddy touches my stomach to feel you and his hands are cold, you stop moving. It seems like daddy calms you because when he talks to you, I think he talks you back to sleep. You must have a sweet tooth since you have me craving sweets for the first time in my life. I think you are having a party when I give it to you! You seem to sleep through the night even if I don't. But if you could keep that up when you are on the outside, that would be great! Sometimes you get the hiccups and I wonder if they bother you but the doctor assures us that you are being a stellar student and doing your homework-practicing breathing! I wonder what you dream about when you sleep. Daddy and I have laid in bed trying to think about what you'll look like. We already know you'll have a lot of thick hair. We saw it on the ultrasound and well we both have thick hair too! Who will you look like the most? Will you be tall like your daddy? Will you have dark hair and eyes like me or will a recessive gene sneak in there somewhere to throw us off? The questions could go on and on! I know you will be such a cute baby, and you will grow into a beautiful girl. Oh, I can't wait to meet you finally! You have a nice collection of books already and I hope you like to read like I did when I was younger. I can't wait to teach you how to swim, take trips to see Grandma and Grandpa in Ohio, and introduce you to our furbabies! It's been a very long and rough ride but I am certain that you will be worth every minute of it. We will be here, ready to hold you, feed you, keep you warm, protect you, and love you. See you very soon, Lucy.

Love, Mommy
