Dad's Perspective
Lucy has been meeting many milestones lately, such as 1st day of school a week and a half ago and 1st day of church a couple of weeks back, but she reached an unfortunate although inevitable one last Thursday...1st sick day. Wednesday night when she came home she was a little more fussy and tired than usual. We skipped her bath for the night and put her to bed early since wasn't staying awake anyway. Overnight, she was much fussier than usual and woke up more than she has in a few weeks. She woke up on her own at 6 which is a little sooner than we have been waking her to get her ready for daycare and it was the 1st time she didn't have to be woken. Since she was warm to the touch all over, we checked her temp. It was 100.5, the temp that the doctor wants us to bring her in. Melinda called the doctor's office when they opened to setup an appointment. Fortunately it didn't turn out to be anything more than a fever and the Dr. said that she was probably just getting over a cold. Since she isn't supposed to go to daycare with a fever over 100 degrees, I went ahead and stayed home since Melinda had only been back to work for a little over a week. Lucy ended up being in a good mood most of the day and we had fun on her first sick day :)
