Grandpa & Grandma Reynolds Come to Visit...

This weekend my parents came on Friday afternoon and left Saturday so it was short visit but nonetheless they were here which made everyone in this household happy especially Lucy. They had a slow start getting here because the rain that Indianapolis got turned into ice and snow in Ohio. I was almost afraid they weren't going to be able to come. But with mom's good driving skills (aka driving incredibly slow) they made it here. After a couple of hours of playing with her granddaughter, Mom & I went to Hamilton Town Center to shop around a lot. She was amazed how much it had built up since they were last here which was only a couple of months ago. There was a cake pan that she had gotten me from William & Sonama that was in the shape of a stadium that had been sitting in my cabinets collecting dust for awhile so I decided to finally try it out while she was here. So off to Target we went to get the supplies. I now own a pastry brush, cake poker thing that tests the middle, and Crisco. To a stranger, I would look like a serious baker! Mom did most of the baking while I looked on. Unknowingly she filled it too full and it spilled out when in the oven. I guess better here then me! It turned out pretty good and taste delicious.

Friday night mom and dad volunteered to watch Lucy while Jeremy and I escaped for a few hours. Denise & Pat and Courtney & Nick came up from the southside to have dinner & drinks with us. We ended up at a little tavern by our house and watched the game, had good food, and of course the drinks were flowing. One thing I have noticed that now that Lucy is here, Jer and I don't dare to drink too much now. Who wants to take care of a 3 1/2 month old with a hangover? Not this girl! We had a really good time with them despite Ohio State loosing and my bracket being torn into shreds!

Saturday we had invited the Martin Family and Lindsay/Kyle over for lunch. Jer & I were glad it was nice outside so that we were able to grill out. We fixed hamburgers, brats, potato salad, salad, baked beans, and a variety of chips. With all that food there were still not very many leftovers. It was all delicious and we very much enjoyed the good company.

Mom & Dad left after lunch and we laid around the house as just the three of us again. Jer and I had decided we didn't want to get up early on Sunday (in the rain) and go to church so we went to church with Amber & Mike on Saturday night. It's not our regular church, but still it's a church. We were going to try to go to dinner but their son Austin (4 months old) was not in the best mood so Jeremy & I went by ourselves. Lucy slept most of the time and we were able to see Butler win the basketball game and on they are on their way to the Final Four!

A raining Sunday rounded out our weekend. It was full of laundry, trips to the store, and naps. After the weekend we had, we were all exhausted. In fact, now that Lucy is fast asleep in dreamland, I think it's time for me to head to bed too.

Goodnight Blog World.
