The first time a parent leaves their child overnight for the first time is a big deal. You have to decide who is going to be responsible to take care of your only child, take their whole bedroom to that person's house, and is your child going to be ok with them. That's just three things that come to mind when I think about going out. Jeremy and I decided that the perfect occasion for this big night out would be for one of my best friends birthday. Not only is she one of my best friends, but she has been amazing to both Jeremy & I and especially Lucy so it only seemed appropriate to go out and celebrate her. All of our friends were going to be there so we were excited. Linsday and Kyle graciously accepted our plea to watch Lucy. In fact, they apparently looked forward to it all week. We dropped her off around 5:00 and off we were for our big night. We all went to Dana's house for the birthday party and had a lot of fun. By midnight, Jer & I were on the couch about to pass out. It was at that moment that we had to make a decision. Keep on drinking and be insanely hungover taking care of Lucy or call it a night and face the facts that we are new parents and well tired new parents. So indeed we called it a night and went to the Rooney's house and passed out. I'm glad we did but it was hard enough to stay energized enough on 6 hours of sleep. I was so happy to pick Lucy up that morning though and felt comfortable all night knowing that she was in good hands.
